About Us and Our Mission
It all started in 2017 when a small group of 6-8 families got together and decided to organize small events, to make friends and enjoy the holiday traditions as a larger family. Very soon this group found common interests and wanted to get involved in more meaningful ways. The ideas kept coming as the group got bigger. A core-committee was formed to bring more focus, thought and planning on how to put our ideas into action. Hence was born SACH - South Asian Circle of Hopkinton.
SACH is a community based public non-profit organization founded in September of 2018 with a mission to bring together the collective strength, celebrate the culture and share the vibrant spirit of the South Asian diaspora of Hopkinton.
Discovering synergies between families of the South Asian diaspora of Hopkinton, celebrating the culture of the regions and getting our collective strength to make a difference within the larger community.
We do so through:
Cultural events: Organizing events that bring Hopkinton families together and educating all residents about different cultures within South Asia. In doing so, we celebrate the larger sub-continent cultures and enrich the spirit of a multicultural global community living in Hopkinton.
Community Outreach: Finding avenues for members of the South Asian community to volunteer their efforts in areas such as Technology, Science, Research, Arts and channel them into programs that will benefit Hopkinton residents of all age groups.
Civic engagement: Advocating active community involvement and civic engagement by partnering with other local organizations and town agencies to spread awareness about the town and also encourage philanthropic giving.
